Target Audience: All levels of management. We recommend that managers from the same organization attend in peer groups or as intact teams, depending on the issues to be addressed and the objectives of the workshop.
Length: 2 days for each part of the program.
Key Issues Addressed: Executives and Managers are keys to the growth of any organization. To be effective, however, they must be able to understand their role in inspiring Others, Attracting and Developing Talent, Building Teamwork, Ensuring Execution and their own effectiveness as Leaders and Managers. Organizational Change occurs only if everyone is willing to change.
Program Overview: The Leading and Managing Workshop Series involves two parts: Part one focuses on Self-Understanding and is entitled Leading and Managing. Part two focuses on motivating and developing relationships with others and is entitled Developing and Motivating.
Leading and Managing assists participating executives and managers to gain a deeper understanding of their own capabilities and managerial leaders. This program will distinguish the difference between leading and managing and the capabilities needed to be and effective Managerial Leader. Participants will assess their strengths and development opportunities to become more effective Managerial Leaders. In addition, they will receive confidential feedback from their peers and direct reports on their managerial leadership practices. They will create self-development plans and reality test those with the instructor in an individual coaching session.
Developing and Motivating focuses on achieving better results and relationships with others. Participants will learn models that will help them improve their skills in developing direct reports to achieve the short and long term results the company needs from them, and improving their ability to communicate and work effectively with others. Managers will also examine how and where they spend their time in order to maximize the performance of their staffs. They will leave the session with relevant managerial leadership “tools” and with a plan of action with specific staff members in mind.
Program Design: The program is highly tailored to the issues and learning objectives of the management team. It utilizes diagnostic instruments, video and written case studies, a confidential Managerial Leadership Survey, along with models that provide managers with common tools and strategies that they can use after the program.
Take Home Value: Each participant will leave with a tested action plan for self-development and to improve his or her working relationships with others. Each participant will meet with a consultant coach to discuss personal insights and challenges in implementing action plans.Contact BCSI about scheduling this presentation
